My family tree is traced back to Jean Letardif who married Clemence Houart in Etables, St. Brieuc, Brittany about 1601. He was born in 1575. I’m trying to fill in the missing information where possible. Can anyone help me?
Hello, I too am trying to fill in the missing information that I am trancing for a book that I am writing. I have been able to trace back my lineage to having Marie Olivier Sylvestre Manitouabewich as my great great great great grandmother who was adopted at the age of 10 years old by Le Tardif. Her second name is from Olivier Le Tardif. Her father was Roch Manitouabewich, born in 1599, a Huron indian who was working for Le Tardif as an interpreter. Le Tardif He worked for several years as a guide and interpreter for Olivier Letardif, setting up fur trading posts for Samuel Champlain’s company.
